The K.E.PE.A Naoussas (CEES) is currently located within a section of the Logos-Tourpalis-Kyrtis old factory complex.
The factory was established in 1875 as a spinning mill, marking the inception of industrial activity in Naoussa, Macedonia, and potentially the broader Balkan region. Initially, the factory was housed in a building that functioned as a watermill since 1850. The construction of the spinning mill was undertaken between 1874 and 1875, with the substantial weaving mill building following in 1895. Various warehouses, offices and other structures were erected on the western side during subsequent years. In 1908, Georgios Kyrtis departed, leading to the renaming of the company as “Loggos and Tourpalis” with headquarters relocated to Thessaloniki.
The “Loggos factory,” as the local community of Naoussa refers to it, ceased operations in 1936 following a significant fire.In 1986, it was designated a preserved monument by the Ministry of Culture and expropriated in favour of the Municipality of Naoussa. The Visual Arts Workshops of the Naoussa Cultural Organization were initially accommodated in its restored section. In 2004, the Department of Technology Management of the University of Macedonia operated on its premises for a number of years, and subsequently, the social services of the Municipality of Naoussa were accommodated in part of the buildings. The remaining part was then granted to our Center.
